Greatings from Canada

So far we have been doing really good... Kade and DeAnn are real troopers! We have been blessed with beautiful weather and clear roads... so far so good! The weather report says that we should have snow tomorrow. We have been having so much fun with the walkie-talkies that Kade brought. Micah and I are having a good time and I hear constantly "babe, remember to stretch you legs and wiggle your toes" he is so cute with me and the baby!

Kade and DeAnn made it!

We picked up our poor tired travelers at 1 am in the morning(3 am their time). On the way home we saw 2 moose almost like I planned it! We got them settled and ready to for bed and ended up staying up chatting for 2 hours before we headed to bed. We had to be up at 7 for the movers and as soon as the movers started going I kicked Micah out the door to work and Kade and DeAnn out to go sight seeing. The movers got done finished finally later that afternoon, and we all headed to Sour Dough to suprise DeAnn's little brother Elder Barney! Then we took a drive around the Turnagain Arm out to Girwood it was so fun!

This is Cutie Pie DeAnn with Micah's brother Kade and her little brother Elder Barney we all went to dinner at Sour Dough!

I do believe I am almost as big as that Mountain behind me!

Us on the Turnagain Arm, our last look for a while!

Our Neighbors....

I was leaving for work the other day and as I pulled out of our drive way there stood a cow moose and her calf! I was so excited... we see moose all the time but I still can't get used to how amazing they are! I drove the long way out so I could get a good pic of them and if you look at the momma's back legs she is missing one from the ankle down. I think she must have stepped in a trap. We have a problem here with trappers. I personally think that its not very sporting, we do have the guns...Hellllo, that usually means we win.

Our trip to Seward...

Micah had to do a little audit in Seward so I went with him for a fun day trip! We had fun wandering around this little town in Alaska. It was the so nice to get out and take a drive! Although I have to say that we did this trip at the end of January and it took me that long to get the pics off the camera. I am going to do better I promise!

We drove around Seward and found the coolest little waterfall coming down the side of the mountain and going right into the inlet!(Micah is so cute)

It was so cold I was trying to show my breath to Micah and of course he took the pic then.

This was on the way home, I thought it was so pretty!

Two weeks to go!

Sooo...for those of you who don't know, Micah and I are moving to Eugene, OR. We are so sad to leave all our new friends and a company that is like family! The opportunity to be closer to family is to great for us to to not jump at the chance. We are preparing to leave Alaska by going to all our favortie places and eating at all our favorite restaurants.

This is us at Simon & Seaforts!

Us at dinner with the beautiful Knik Arm in the background. ( Micah loves this pic, I think I look like a small house, ugh the joys of pregnancy!)

We are so excited for Micah's brother Kade and his fiance Deanne to come and visit... they are so great to come and drive one of our cars home! They are so brave to spend that much time traveling with us!

A Trip with Micah to the Alaskan Bush....

I made Micah take a camera on an Audit with him into one of the small native villages in the Bush. I always laugh because I have to pack him food and water for his trip and this time I had to send him with a sleeping bag and pillow. It was crazy trying to make it all fit! This is alot of how it is for him on these smaller audits... poor guy no wonder he slept 16 hrs straight when he got home!!

This is the veiw of the the Village of Akiachak, from the 4 seater plane Micah was flying in on!

This is the very busy airport that he landed in... if you look really close you can see the marks in the snow.

Micah did an audit on a small Native Corp... the only place for them to work and sleep was in the local school. This is where he worked and slept!

Here is the handsome man gettign ready for the -40 below (that doesn't include the wind chill) weather! I just love this very hairy man!

Here is his view on the way home... this is a major river your looking at and if you look closer there are definate tracks where the snowmobilers ride on top of the ice... for the most part this is safe its just that rivers never freeze solid so no matter how thick the ice is there is always flowing water underneath, and rivers also have to breath, or relieve built op pressure so when ridding on a river pay close attention, there are always holes to watch out for ... I only showed this because he almost wasn't able fly out of the village, so he had a back up plan (of course he is a Clinger) he found some locals to snowmobile him out and this would have been the route they took thank goodness this didn't happen.

We are finally moved in....

We are finally moved in to our new little home! It s so cute andd perfect for our growing little family. Its 2 bedrooms and one bath, we have a cute little fire place and our oven is gas! Its so wonderful the Kitchen is almost twice the size of our last one.

Micah bought us new furniture we shopped for 2 months before we agreed on the style and type we were looking for. Then a local store ran a deal 5 years no interest... so the Saturday they ran the deal I had to work of course! Micah went all by himself to the store and picked out this great set of couches and this crazy huge king size bed that is so comfortable! He had everything moved in and set up before I got home.

I count myself a very lucky woman, I feel blessed in all ways possible!

How cute is this little profile!

Can you tell?

Here let me zoom in on the baby for you! Oh yeah thats a Penis, we are having a boy!!!

It was so fun to go to the Ultra Sound and see our baby on the big screen! I got on the bed and the doc put the gel on my stomache Mic and I asked immediately to see the sex of the baby. He told us that he likes to save that for the end... but as he applied the Ultra sound thing to my stomache the first picture that popped on the screen was my child with his legs spread wide ... and I was so worried this child was going to be shy. Its so fun to get to know his personality better. He is so stubborn, he would not hold still for the doctor and when the guy applied any pressure to my stomache the baby would kick the probe or the guys hand really hard for something that doesn't weigh a pound yet!!!

We are so excited and we feel so incredibly blessed to share this with all of you!

Run with the Reindeer

Only in Alaska would you get "Running w/ the Reindeer". This weekend and through next week is Fur-rounday I have no idea what it means or why we celebrate Fur-rounday , but we had a good time watching. Here are some of the pics from the RUN

This reindeer loved the camera!

Poor things I don't think they wanted to be here

Honestly the reindeer ran faster than the people!

Honestly, how dumb do you have to be to run with the reindeer( Mic and I are doing it next year)

Tomorrow is the big day we find our the sex of our child! I just have to say BOOO to althose who voted with Micah.

Extreme Home Makeover
I have converted Micah to my favorite feel good reality show! Extreme Home Makeover, every week I cry like baby... this week they did the show for the Marine that lost his leg. Micah got a little teary eyed watching the show. I love this show because its so real and there are so many honest good people in need who deserve a hand up and a little help.

Super Bowl weekend

Our weekends seem to go so fast anymore, Micah is trying to study for the CPA and every weekend we are stay up late and get up even later, but since we have the baby coming this summer I thought it was time to start working on getting up early. I told Micah Friday night that no matter what he had to get up while it was still morning on Saturday. I was up at 9:30 ish and at 10 I started bugging mic to get up. I had the whole house clean, my hair and makeup done, and a cup of ice water in my hand at 11:45 before he decided it might be a good idea to get moving( it was still techniquely the morning)

As you all know this weekend was superbowl weekend. Micah and I decided to invite our friends Shawn and Salina over for a little party and to watch the game. I made lots of food mostly finger foods like egg rolls, taquitos, bbq ck, chips with dip, and a veggie tray. I decided to save the egg rolls for later in the game and set them out to thaw.... I fell asleep right after half time. I woke up at the beginning of the 4th quarter and decided to ask the guys if they wanted me to make the egg rolls. Micah and Shawn both fessed up to eating some while I was sleeping. Honesty, are you kidding me, they are both going to be so sick(they were pork egg rolls)Hahahaha is it bad that I think that is so funny. Poor Shawn has to fly out on a job in the morning! I feel so bad for every one working in Micah's office tomorrow.

We had another Doctor's appointment the big official first one with my new doctor and Micah decided to come too. Can I just tell you how interesting it is to have my feet in the stirrups and my doctor commenting about my pregnancy with my husband nodding in agreement to everything she said... I think maybe he should have been a doctor.

Monday, January 21, 2008

Today was the my first appointment with my new Doctor and I am so excited... is it bad that I have a little bit of a crush on my doctor! He really is nice, but more than just a little bit gay. I heard baby's heart beat and its just under 130 beats per minute. Micah would have bet money that we are having a girl, but now I think that he is leaning towards that boy side of the belly (which side is that exactly, i think its which ever side has the most stretch marks!) I love being pregnant because Micah is such a sweetie and you had better believe that I am milking it for all its worth. Now heres a line from our sponser..... Hello from the dark side! This is my (Micah's) first time writing on our blog. If you're reading this blog entry I would appreciate it if you you would print it off and save it, because years from now Melinda will deny that she ever called me a sweetie. Truth be told, we are both super excited, and things are going well here in Siberia. Mel has been telling me that she really likes the name Bristol if we have a girl (uniquely Alaskan). I asked her why Bristol, and she told me because I was in Bristol Bay when the baby was conceived. It took me three weeks to realize that Mel hasn't been to Bristol Bay! Of course I'm kidding, but on a more serious note, JaMicah or JaMelinda is going to have to work because Mel doesn't like my first choice. I am voting for Ivan The Impaler Clinger. I mean, how cool would that be to have The Impaler as a middle name, and not just a nickname. Well folks, we have to go now, but check back soon because we plan to start updating our blog a little more often.

Happy New Year!

Well the holidays are finally over, all though I love the holidays its time to pack up the tree and go on a diet... poor Micah may have overindulged just a little bit. The only thing he wanted from Santa this year was a scale... when he first stepped on it he stopped eating for a full 24 hours, everyday before he goes to work, when he gets home and before bed he is on that scale. This would all be fine accept he strips down to his birthday suit and for some reason it never occurs to him to shut the blinds!

Micah and I are so pleased to announce to every one that we are expecting our first and possibly our last baby at the end of June! I haven't felt this sick and miserable ever! Micah is so excited we go shopping and he disappears and I only have to look for him in the baby section. He can't decide whether he wants a boy or a girl! I personnally think that he is leaning towards a girl because he wants a little princess.

We hope everyones Holidays were wonderful and we love and miss you all!
