Fighting w/ the MAN!!!

Today was my 36 week doctors appt, because I have C-sections I get to opt out of the awkward checking part of my appointments (hallejulah!)  This does not however save me from stupid people... my doctor for one!
Ever appointment I try a new approach, to convince him we should move my C-section up!  This week I thought my argument was brilliant, too bad he still holds all the cards.

Our debate went something like this:
ME ~ The baby is measuring 2 weeks ahead, lets get this party started

Doc~ This just means your going to have a big 8lb baby

Me~ Doc, Mase was 6 11, I never said I wanted to be an over acheiver, I'm fine w/ a 6 pounder!

Doc~ Melinda, just think you could be going to your due date or even beyond

Me~ Doc your not making this easier, your making me want to slap you silly!

He left laughing to do some lucky lady's C-section and I was left to waddle slowly out... I'm down but not out!

A day at the races

We spent last Saturday at Hayward!  Ok maybe not the whole day but a good hour, and Mason loved it!  He ran around like a crazy man, but where we were there was no access to the track...
it was perfect for our little weasel!
Although, Mase tried his best to help the runners.

He got a little frustrated that he couldn't climb the fence.
After a while he enjoyed just watching, and yelling when we yelled!

Oregon beat UCLA it was a good day!

Ramblings of the sleep deprived...

Its 2 in the the morning, and I'm awake.  I'm awake because I'm to the end of this pregnancy and am dealing the aches and pains of the last month, but also the nervousness of bring a new life into the world.
I've been wondering lately, how am I going to handle 2 children (I'm having an early morning panic attack)?  How exactly am I going to raise 2 boys to be good men like their father?
Micah is one of the best men I've ever known, and I'm not just saying that because he's also my man (although I may be biased), I say that because I see how very hard he works, and the personal sacrifices he makes for us, he is utterly selfless when it comes his family.  I admire the standards he sets for himself and his drive to overcome challenges big and small.  My husband is of course not perfect, but somedays I wonder if he isn't darn close!
I've come to realize throught this post.  Our boys will be good men, because of the example that Micah sets for them and the standard of acheivement that he will constantly make them rise to!  I got lucky when Micah asked me to spend forever with him, I got a wonderful husband and an awesome baby daddy!

Micah, I didn't start this post out about you, but when I think of our boys growing up... I hope and dream that they will be like you!

Love you for always!

Learning to share...

Sharing has never been Mason's strong point, but what little kid likes to share?  I found this retro car at an Estate sale... Micah thought I had lost it, we have zero room in our place!  Mic has never seen Mase fight w/ other children over these toys, (I watched a big boy try and steal a car from Mase and then watched Mase remove the big boy from his car by the hair.  Mase was 20 months and this kid was 4) I knew the 8 bucks would be well spent!

This is the first time I've seen Mase happily share, it might be because he wouldn't dare say no to Amelia!

Amelia decided they should share, Mase quickly agreed!

I was dying that they squeezed in there together and that Mase drove them around.  I no longer jump when he and Amelia get into a fight, she wins and then he minds her better than he does me!

Thanks for killing time with me Tawny... its been a long season!

Easter

The giant bunny made it to our house, and left a boat load of candy!  Mason and I over indulged and we were both sick that evening, serves us right!

This year Micah was at the office late in the evening when I called him frantic, I forgot to pick up easter supplies!  He swung by Walmart, and he did a fab job!  Thanks Mic for picking up my slack!
Mase was thrilled w/ all his loot!
The giant bunny has been his favorite and he now fights to take it and a blanket when we leave!
