Postpartum Alopecia

I am one of the lucky women who gets Postpartum Alopecia (after baby hair loss). I got a mild case with Mason, but this time around it quite severe, thank you Miles!  Look at how bad that is!!!

All of my hair girls know how bad this is!  And look at how deep that hair line is...  Girls its still not done, I've had to Drano the drains twice already this month!

My options are as follows:

1. Pretend nothing has happened, and stare down anyone rude enough to ask about it!

2. Shave it bald, I keep saying bald is the new sexy.... maybe its time to prove it (Micah just vetoed bald)

3. Cut it short

This is about a year, year and half ago... should I go short?

This was hair school, (sorry its a phone pic) when I still had all my hair!
I think I need some high lights again!

What do my faithful followers think (all 3 of you)?

Oh my word! That's awful! I'm so sorry! I like it short. You look like a babe. Go for it! It's just hair. Of course that's coming from someone who's hair is NOT falling out :) When will it fill in?

Go short! Your hair is darling that short length.

Side note - no idea you went to hair school! How awesome!

You have such gorgeous hair. How sad that it is falling out! I had that pretty bad, but I think you take the cake. Your hair was so cute short. I love it.

I think short is very cute on you, and then you never have the impulse to pull it back!

And, btw, totally feel your pain. My hairline is my ONLY hair that curls on its own accord (think Jan Brady) and it is the hair I lost (wondering now if curls have to do with hormones? hm) - so now the tiny short hairline hairs are a crazy mess. To straighten with a flat iron or blow dryer, risk damaging them and take longer to grow? To just say oh well? I have no clue. I just hate it.

I guess we can at least be thankful for thick hair that can mask much better than fine, baby hair!

I vote keep it short, Mellie. It looks good like that but whatever you choose, I know you will rock it :)

Short is so cute on you! I think you should go for it. It may be falling out, but it will always grow back.

Mine was sort of medium hair loss, but recently I started taking prenatals again, and my hair is falling out just as bad as when I had Riley :( I feel your pain.

oh my goodness... that happens to me TOO!!! You hair is curlier than mine, but I think we have the same thickness and texture. Everyone says "you can afford to lose some hair". NO I CAN'T! AH... Just cut it short. I had too... boo. And I am not looking forward to going through all that hair loss again. At least we know it comes back. :)

That is rough! I would go short- but that is me- you'll look great with whatever you decide. Maybe since Micah vetoes matching outfits with the boys- get matching hair cuts! j/k!

Short is really cute on you! How stressful! How long does it last? I am looking forward to this baby getting here because I have 'during pregnancy hair loss'. I've been considering short too, its not an easy decision!
