Today was my 36 week doctors appt, because I have C-sections I get to opt out of the awkward checking part of my appointments (hallejulah!) This does not however save me from stupid people... my doctor for one!
Ever appointment I try a new approach, to convince him we should move my C-section up! This week I thought my argument was brilliant, too bad he still holds all the cards.
Our debate went something like this:
ME ~ The baby is measuring 2 weeks ahead, lets get this party started
Doc~ This just means your going to have a big 8lb baby
Me~ Doc, Mase was 6 11, I never said I wanted to be an over acheiver, I'm fine w/ a 6 pounder!
Doc~ Melinda, just think you could be going to your due date or even beyond
Me~ Doc your not making this easier, your making me want to slap you silly!
He left laughing to do some lucky lady's C-section and I was left to waddle slowly out... I'm down but not out!

A day at the races
We spent last Saturday at Hayward! Ok maybe not the whole day but a good hour, and Mason loved it! He ran around like a crazy man, but where we were there was no access to the track...
it was perfect for our little weasel!
Although, Mase tried his best to help the runners.
He got a little frustrated that he couldn't climb the fence.
After a while he enjoyed just watching, and yelling when we yelled!
Oregon beat UCLA it was a good day!

Ramblings of the sleep deprived...
Its 2 in the the morning, and I'm awake. I'm awake because I'm to the end of this pregnancy and am dealing the aches and pains of the last month, but also the nervousness of bring a new life into the world.
I've been wondering lately, how am I going to handle 2 children (I'm having an early morning panic attack)? How exactly am I going to raise 2 boys to be good men like their father?
Micah is one of the best men I've ever known, and I'm not just saying that because he's also my man (although I may be biased), I say that because I see how very hard he works, and the personal sacrifices he makes for us, he is utterly selfless when it comes his family. I admire the standards he sets for himself and his drive to overcome challenges big and small. My husband is of course not perfect, but somedays I wonder if he isn't darn close!
I've come to realize throught this post. Our boys will be good men, because of the example that Micah sets for them and the standard of acheivement that he will constantly make them rise to! I got lucky when Micah asked me to spend forever with him, I got a wonderful husband and an awesome baby daddy!
Micah, I didn't start this post out about you, but when I think of our boys growing up... I hope and dream that they will be like you!
Love you for always!

Learning to share...
Sharing has never been Mason's strong point, but what little kid likes to share? I found this retro car at an Estate sale... Micah thought I had lost it, we have zero room in our place! Mic has never seen Mase fight w/ other children over these toys, (I watched a big boy try and steal a car from Mase and then watched Mase remove the big boy from his car by the hair. Mase was 20 months and this kid was 4) I knew the 8 bucks would be well spent!
This is the first time I've seen Mase happily share, it might be because he wouldn't dare say no to Amelia!
Amelia decided they should share, Mase quickly agreed!
I was dying that they squeezed in there together and that Mase drove them around. I no longer jump when he and Amelia get into a fight, she wins and then he minds her better than he does me!
Thanks for killing time with me Tawny... its been a long season!

Easter
The giant bunny made it to our house, and left a boat load of candy! Mason and I over indulged and we were both sick that evening, serves us right!
This year Micah was at the office late in the evening when I called him frantic, I forgot to pick up easter supplies! He swung by Walmart, and he did a fab job! Thanks Mic for picking up my slack!
Mase was thrilled w/ all his loot!
The giant bunny has been his favorite and he now fights to take it and a blanket when we leave!

Spring in all her glory!!
I have been awful lately updating our blog, I've missed my chance to rub in our February blossoms!
March has been a bit crazy for us, over the last week we've all had a terrible stomache bug making the rounds. We are fine now, but we seem to catch everything thats going round (we don't spend alot of time out and about either, its weird).
Micah is finishing up the last couple of weeks of busy Tax season and gearing up for a very busy Audit season, its a darn good thing he loves his job!
Mason is as active as ever and its only getting harder to keep up with him and all his messes... he still isn't speaking english (he is definately speaking something, we just aren't sure what).
I am getting bigger and bigger, the time just can't seem to fly fast enough!

The daffodils have already come and gone!
My SIL Kellie made this blanket for Mase and lately it runs errands with us.
I've tried to hit the park, before all the big kids get out from school... Mase still doesn't understand he is not a big kid and that all the big boys do not want to be his best friend.
This his him w/ his friend Amelia! She may be pint size, but she doesn't let Mase get away with anything!

A night to remember...
Last night was just one of those nights...
Poor Mason has had a small hacking cough over the past couple of weeks, and last night after our late night snack of some cheetos, Mase started coughing and he coughed so much that he threw up all over me! This wasn't a first time deal for Mason and I, so I stripped us and we jumped into the tub; no big deal... except that he threw up on Micah on the way to the bathroom (Mic doesn't handle the puke very well); however, we still handled it fine.
After we got out of the tub and dried off, we let Mason run around nude for a little bit. He had already pooped twice, he should have been good for the night. I called my sister in law to chat and in the middle of the conversation, no joke, I said "Kellie I have to go, Mason just pooped all over the carpet"! Sorry Kellie!
Micah freaked a little bit, so I had him get Mason back in the tub while I cleaned the carpet. In the middle of picking up the first juicy steaming pile, I hear Mic start swearing (some of my more favorite curses). I just knew that Mase wasn't done, not by a long shot! He had pooped in the tub! So I sent Mic to our bathroom to finish bathing Mase. I finished with the carpet and started on the tub, and in the middle of scrubbing/disinfecting the tub I hear Mic swearing again. Mason had some insane reserves! Micah turned on the shower in our tub and quickly scrubbed him (while balancing the kid above the poopy water) and then we very quickly diapered him.
Micah grabbed a bottle while I put a fresh pair of PJs on. Mason and I laid down to rest and 10 mins in he started coughing again.... (I know what you're thinking...not again, right)? I jumped out of bed and made it in to the bathroom with the clean tub just in time to be covered from face to bellybutton w/ puke. We jumped right into the shower. Poor Mase was hysterical, no one likes to throw up that much! So I let the shower beat on his back, and told him a story while Micah cleaned up and got towels ready for us. We wrapped him in a towel and quickly diapered, and clothed him. We all went to bed, and Mason and Mic were asleep almost as soon as their heads hit the pillow. I take much longer to sleep, and about 15 mins after Mason fell asleep, he rolled over on to my chest (a position he loves) when I wrapped my hand around his hip only to feel that he had wet through his diaper and PJs and onto the sheets.
A quick diaper and PJ change later, and a towel over the wet area (at this point we were so tired; what's a little pee between exhausted parents) and we were back in the dark!
Nobody stirred until sometime after 10 this morning! Oh the joys of parenthood!
(While typing this Mason threw up again)

A quick drive to the coast...
On Sunday we awoke to the most amazing weather... it was perfect, warm w/ a slight breeze, and nothing but blue skies for as far as the eye could see! We got ready for the day and decided to head to the coast! I can't explain how it is for Micah and I to come around a bend in the road and see the ocean... its like coming home! Neither of us realized we had been holding our breath, but we had... the ocean for us on a perfect day is pure bliss!

Mase just getting his feet in the sand
Working his way to the water
This was what we saw the whole time... the back of Mason running towards the waves
And again!
Daddy to the rescue!!
We didn't stay at Heceta Head for long... but it was so fun and completely rejuvinating! Now someone explain to me why we don't get more visitors? (could it be the rain?)

Pie for breakfast?
I bought a pie to share w/ some girlfriends, we didn't finish it and of course I forgot to put it away! The next morning, Mason decided Chocolate Satin would make a great breakfast... I would agree but if I do my mom card will be revoked!
He was loving life!

Winner Winner chicken dinner!!!
A friend of mine from High School had a give away and I won!!! WAHOOOOOO!! I really love winning, thats probably why I have a slight addiction to scratch tickets (its and 2-3 dollar a month habit).
I met nichole through her awesome family! She was a few years behind me, but I remember her as being a very positive and out going person! One of those zest for life people... she has an adorable little family and just had her 2nd little boy (I've been watching her family closely to see how having 2 goes). Unfortunately, her blog is private, but trust me her little family is adorable!

A little mud never hurt anyone
The weather has been wonderful in Eugene and it seems we have sunshine every other day (for Eugene thats amazing!) Although we have sunshine there is still alot of mud, and apparently my little man is a mud magnet. He walked out side and was instantly digging in the wet dirt, I try to pick my battles and dirt is one I will forfeit immediately! He was so happy for an hour... whats a little dirt between buddies!
He looks a little amazed that I'm not pulling him away

uhhhhoooh...
I was in the kitchen with Mason and he was trying to show me what he wanted to drink, milk NO, juice NO, water NO... he was killing me and getting more upset as I offered choices (why can't I just read his mind). He flung himself against my leg whining, and then slid down to the ground taking my lounge pants with him. He instantly stopped boobing looked at my pants puddled around my ankles and then up at me and very loudly said "UHHHOOOHH"! He jumped up from the floor and ran to living room, grabbed the bag of Mini Cadbury Eggs we had been sharing and brought them to me.
I laughed so hard I almost cried!
Then I realized he could have been insulting me... dang little stinker!!
TONIGHT:
I just picked a huge booger out of Mason's nose, I showed it to him and he leaned over and ate it, made a face and spit it out! Maybe he won't be one of those kids who eats their boogers. Its all about the little successes, right!

Mama's little helper???
Mason is big on helping me, he will load the dish washer w/ his toys, sweep the walls knocking down all my frames, and now he is big on emptying the vaccum. How is the world did I get so lucky?
Ohhh yuck!!!
I caught him in the middle of digging for some of his fish crackers... UGH!!

Ducks vs USC
Micah and i got the chance to go to a game at the infamous Mac Court! We watched the ducks beat USC and it was soooo much fun! I told Micah we should watch football at home and basketball in person! My SIL Kellie is going to be thrilled that for once I enjoyed a basketball game... now if only we could get tickets to March madness maybe the week wouldn't be such torture for me.
Such a good time!
I'm totally digging those pink jerseys, and shoes... I told Micah I need some of my own!
We won! Take that USC and your smack talking managers!
