One week till the big test...

Micah is craming like a mad man. Next Saturday is the first of four big tests and we are feeling the pressure now more than ever... poor Mic does nothing but work and study. We realized yesterday that it had been almost 2 weeks since we had seen each other in the light of day... so micah took and hour on yesterday and we drove to the top of skinners butte. We are so excited to have this test (the hardest of all 4) out of the way.

On a much better note thanks everyone for all the imput on my quilt... I think it turned out great.

I couldn't find a solid back that matched right, so I went with the darker print.

My next quilt is going to be larger and hopefully the squares will match up better.

I have been doing my best to cook and bake more and this week I made Carmels mmm This jar was full at the beginning of the week!



Mason is growing and advancing everyday... I dream of the days when he would lay quietly on a blanket.

He didn't like the toy selection I got out for him, don't worry he can get his own!

I promise we have been doing our best to discourage him from walking, he is an unstoppable force of nature!

I'm stuck... help!

Ok this is Mason's quilt and I originally wanted to do one of those I spy quilts, but then I found this really cute material at JoAnne's and I loved the farm animals!

This is the material I picked for the back... it goes ok but I want all the letters to show so I need to pick border colors and I need to add on to the front so it will be large enough... or I need to find a cute barn themed back...

I thought about cutting out the letters for Mason's name and doing something cute but of course I have overwhelmed myself with too many choices soo give me some feed back what would you do?

Big week for lil man!

Mason man has had a really big week this week... His 4th tooth is making an appearance, he is a wonderful gimp crawler (its a half crawl, half army drag), he can now pull himself up to a stand (very shaky stand) and he ate his first orange and red vine... phew like I said its been a big week for Mase! mmm orange... he loved it! Mase found a pen under the coach and decided on this tasteful facial art! We ran into our friends the Widmers at the movies last night... poor Mase looks like he is headed for a candy comma! mmm red vines I love the look on his face!

A life's work down the drain...

A lifes work down the drain... A Utah woman listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for her long fingernails has lost them in a car crash. Lee Redmond of Salt Lake City sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries in the accident Tuesday.

Redmond's nails, which hadn't been cut since 1979, were broken in the crash. According to the Guinness Web site, her nails measured a total of more than 28 feet long in 2008, with the longest nail on her right thumb at 2 feet, 11 inches.

Salt Lake County Sheriff's Lt. Don Hutson says Redmond was ejected from an SUV in the crash and taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Redmond has been featured on TV in episodes of "Guinness Book of World Records" and "Ripley's Believe It or Not."

Kate listed this on her blog and I think that is about the funniest thing in the world... I also support her sister Joey in her need to share this story with the world, but mostly I just want to know if anyone knows how did she wiped and kept her nails out of the toilet? I saw a stunt on Jackass where steve-o drank a beer that had dripped down some nasty guys nails in India, fyi Steve-o threw up afterwards! (it was on one night really late... dont judge me!)

Back pain... Heart Attack?

I laid down earlier for a lil nap before Mic got home at almost 11pm and when he got home I tried to get out of bed to get his dinner warmed up and I couldn't get out of bed! My upper back between my shoulderblades was on fire! It hurt to breathe and nothing I did seemed to ease the pain. 10 minutes later my back hurts but not as bad so I get up and go sit on the couch with Mic just in time to hear Mase wake up in the other room. ugh so I get up and go get my lil munchkin and we spend some time in the living rm then Mic helps me up and takes Mase in to our room to lay down and relax as a family. I picked mason up off our bed and bent over to put him on the floor and I couldn't get back up... the whole upper left side of my back was on fire and I felt the most extreme pressure on my chest. So here i am ass in the air and feeling like I am dying stuck bent over... when i get this amazing idea to shuffle back to the bed and throw myself backwards so I can lay down (BAD IDEA!!!) I started screaming it hurt so bad... the pain was unreal... I had my knees up to my chest and I was doing those deep gutteral, moan/screams...

Micah is going "what do i do? how do i help?" and I was just crying and screaming, thinking 'what the hell do you think is wrong and if you want to help kill me!' now its kinda fun (3 vicoden later) It was like that for a good 5 minutes and then it turned in to a strong ache and now (3 vicoden later) its a pulsing throb!

I thought I was having a heart attack! So we are laying on the bed after and I start to tell Mic where to find everything and how much to feed Mason just incase I don't wake up! Micah was a little panicked to say the least, I am ok now (thanks to the drugs...glad I saved them from my c-section) I am calling the doc first thing and then hopefully I can get in to some good Physical Therapy.

Its super late and I should be in bed, but now I am really wired! Loves to all my peeps!

Nothing New Here...

Do you ever feel like you are stuck in a rut? I have been feeling that way for the past couple of weeks! I have a serious case of melancholy... if it where not for my girl Anna I would be a lump on our couch! So I decided that I need to make a better effort at... life?

So I started 4 projects and the one that is coming along the best is Mason's quilt! Yah, I have it pieced together, I've decided that I don't like the back I picked so now I just need to figure out a new back!

Mic is still working ungodly hours 8-10 or 12 at night and he works saturdays and sundays too! I think that is the source of my depression, I miss my MAN!!! His test is on the 28th (everyone pray that he passes, and he gets enough studying in) and then he swears March will be just Taxes and no studying! My parents have generously offered to fly me home to visit for the week before Mic's test, utah here I come!

Mase's fav toy is a hanger... could there be a clothing obsession in our future, we could use another Charles in the family!
